Maria Paraskevopoulou is a Data Engineer and incoming PhD researcher, specializing in the governance and implementation of AI in Human Resource Management systems. Her doctoral research focuses on developing enforceable policies and technical mechanisms for applying the EU AI Act to AI-driven HR systems. Her work focuses on turning regulation from a legal requirement into machine readable and executable policies that organizations can actually implement, monitor, and enforce.
Maria is working with organizations seeking to build responsible and compliant AI systems. Her PhD research offers an opportunity for industry partners to contribute to and benefit from applied research addressing a rapidly emerging regulatory and business challenge. She is open to industry collaborations, research partnerships, and PhD sponsorships focused on the EU AI Act, AI governance, and responsible AI in HR.
Her background also includes a hackathon-winning project and multiple national distinctions in mathematics, reflecting a strong record of problem-solving and technological innovation.
